Most people worry about not sleeping enough… but oversleeping deserves attention too.
When I first started my business, I used to get pre-bedtime anxiety so bad that I’d sometimes oversleep just to cope.
I wasn’t resting.
I was recovering from overwhelm.
My brain was carrying so much stress that it pushed my body into long “shutdown” nights.
Oversleeping is often a sign of:
Emotional overload
Unprocessed stress
Burnout
Or, a nervous system stuck in survival mode
One of the simplest tools that helped me was mind dumping.
Writing down every,
Worry
Frustration
Or unfinished thought before bed
Emptying my brain onto paper gave my mind permission to shut down and let my body rest, not escape.
If you’ve been oversleeping recently, don't shame yourself.
Ask: “What is my body trying to recover from?”
That question alone can change everything.
